UniFi Dream Machine SE Gateway and controller
Routing, firewall, and the UniFi Network application for the whole house.
A working home network, a small virtualization host, and a backup chain that ends in the cloud. Here is what runs, and what I'm adding next.
UniFi handles routing, switching, and Wi-Fi. A Raspberry Pi answers DNS for every device.
Routing, firewall, and the UniFi Network application for the whole house.
Two U7 APs provide wireless coverage, managed from the Dream Machine.
Pi-hole blocks ads and trackers; Unbound resolves queries recursively instead of forwarding them to a public DNS provider.
A VMware host for experiments, and a NAS whose data also lives offsite.
Runs test VMs for trying out software and configurations before they touch anything else.
Primary file storage for the lab. A backup copy is sent to AWS.
The lab also has a bench.
A standalone machine I reach remotely to design parts and prepare them for the printer.
Adding visibility into what the network is doing.
Send logs from the network gear and servers to one place so problems are easier to trace.
See which applications and services are using the network.
Write-ups will go here as I finish them.
